Colombia Tolima Planadas Washed
Milk Chocolate, Stone Fruit, Nougat
Gaitania is a village in the municipality of Planadas, Tolima, Colombia—an area celebrated for its rich volcanic soils, high altitudes (1,700–2,000 meters), and cool microclimate that together create ideal conditions for cultivating exceptional coffee.
This washed lot from Gaitania is produced by smallholder farmers, including members of the indigenous Nasa Wesx community, who are committed to sustainable and organic farming practices. Their deep respect for the land and generations of experience result in coffees that are both environmentally responsible and remarkably flavorful.
The coffee is composed of Arabica varieties such as Castillo, Caturra, and Typica, and is processed using the traditional washed method to highlight the clarity and precision of the cup. Expect a clean and balanced flavor profile with notes of milk chocolate, stone fruit, and nougat. A bright yet rounded acidity complements a smooth, creamy body, making it a versatile choice for both espresso and filter brews.
Beyond its quality, Gaitania’s coffee carries the story of its people—a history shaped by resilience and cultural pride. Once a refuge during Colombia’s political conflict, the region has since become a symbol of peace and community strength. This spirit is evident in every cup.
With this offering from our partner Cofinet, you’re tasting more than coffee—you’re experiencing the harmony of terroir, tradition, and craftsmanship that define one of Colombia’s most inspiring coffee origins.
