Jairo Arcila, a third-generation coffee grower from Quindio, Colombia, brings over 40 years of experience to his craft. After a long tenure managing one of Colombia’s largest mills, he turned his focus to cultivating his own land, beginning with Finca La Esmeralda in 1987. This initial investment grew into a network of six farms, where Jairo now specializes in exotic coffee varieties such as Pink Bourbon, Java, Papayo, and Gesha.
This delicious coffee was grown by Jairo Arcila on the Villarazo farm. The coffee cherries were subjected to natural fermentation for 24 hours and then placed in Grainpro bags for 50 hours at a temperature below 22°C. Then all the cherries were placed on raised beds until a moisture content of 11% was achieved. This microlot is 100% Castillo. This variety was developed by the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros. It is more productive than Caturra and resistant to coffee leaf rust.
